Tuesday Tip Spotlight: Bergamot
If you’re a tea drinker, you might be familiar with Bergamot. It’s what they use to flavor Earl Grey tea. Bergamot essential oil comes from cold pressing the rind of the Bergamot orange. It takes 100 oranges to make 85 g of essential oil (about .187 lbs).
Being in the citrus family, Bergamot is naturally a mood lifting oil but it does much more than that. You can diffuse it before bed to help you sleep better. You can apply it topically to help clear up skin blemishes. You can apply it to the back of your neck to help de-stress and calm down. You can rub it on your chest to support your lungs.
Some even say applying it topically helps people feel ‘comfortable in their own skin’. All while you inhale the intoxicating scent of a pure grade citrus oil. Mmmm. Next time you’re feeling glum, try some Bergamot oil on for size and see how fast it can change your mood.
