If you’re new to essential oils, you probably don’t realize that not all EO’s are created equal. Guidelines for producing and labeling oils is sketchy at best, can leave consumers purchasing sub-grade, diluted, or chemical ridden oils without even realizing it.
Here are some examples:
- A company can put ‘no added chemicals’ on the bottle even if they spray the field with chemicals before harvesting them. The chemicals WERE’NT added to the bottle, right? They came in on the plant matter itself.
- A company can put ‘100% pure oil’ leading you to believe it’s 100% pure ESSENTIAL OIL, but in fact, they only have to put 10% essential oil in the bottle. The rest might be pure oil, but what kind of oil is it? Fractionated coconut oil? Almond oil? Olive oil? You get the idea.
- The way the plants are processed greatly affects the THERAPUETIC value of the oil you purchase. The cheapest, easiest way is through a heat process that destroys the therapeutic value while maintaining the aromatic smell, so it’s easy to assume the oil has been processed correctly because it might smell okay to you.
- The region where the plants are grown affects what properties are in the oils. For example, lavender grown in Idaho is subject to different soil, weather, sunlight and other factors than lavender grown in France. Those environmental factors give each essential oil completely different characteristic, even when examining two different bottles of lavender, grown in two different regions.
Fortunately, there’s an oil company based in the USA that is deeply committed to Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade oils. These oils are guaranteed to contain 100% pure ESSENTIAL OIL only. Nothing is removed from the natural oil, and nothing is added. The oils are safe to eat, to use around children, and to use daily.
Each oil is harvested from the region in which is it native, keeping all the lavender, for example, the same in therapeutic value and general characteristic. You will get essentially the same bottle of lavender, no matter how many times you buy it. There’s no guess work.
The oils are each tested by an independent company to certify and verify the quality of each and every batch of oil. If there is a batch that contains extra compounds it shouldn’t, it’s rejected. If a batch contains ingredients not found in the plant naturally, it’s rejected. If a batch is watered down in any way, it’s rejected.
This process allows you to use every essential oil with confidence that it’s the best oil available on the market today.
