Tuesday Tip Spotlight: Baking Soda and Vinegar Oven Cleaner
Oven cleaners are super toxic and not good for any of us. A simple, non-toxic alternative is using baking soda, water and white vinegar. Here’s all you need to do:
Spray a nice heavy coat of water into the bottom of your oven. On top of that, sprinkle a liberal layer of baking soda (like 1/4 inch or so). Spray more water on top of any of the baking soda is still dry. Let sit overnight. (For extra tough grime, add a few drops of lemon oil to this baking soda paste.)
After several hours, wipe out your oven with water. Next, take a spray bottle with white vinegar and spray a coat over the surface of the oven. Any baking soda residue will foam up and you can clean it all out.
What point is a clean oven if it’s putting tons of toxins into our environment? Thankfully, this is a good solution.
